Omowale Elson, Ph.D.
Omowale T. Elson, Ph.D. consults internationally in areas of leadership and organizational development. A graduate of Howard University, Omowale adopts an integrative approach to his practice, using social systems, organizational communication, and group relations theories. As a certified group relations consultant, he designs and facilitates strategic retreats, workshops, experiential conferences and meetings. As a leadership coach, he builds awareness of unhelpful organizational roles that serve to derail effective leadership. He's the President of the Washington Baltimore Center for the Study of Group Relations and is a Senior Fellow in the James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership at University of Maryland. He serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Management and Organizational Studies at the University of Maryland University College and maintains active research agenda in leadership, gender relations, multiculturalism and group relations. Omowale writes on leadership issues for the reputable weekly Barbados Business Journal, and he co-designed recently eight training modules on gender equality for the Geneva-based International Telecommunications Union.
